End of the Week Tidbits

* Why China is the REAL master of the universe* Full Story

What would those Victorian masters of old have made of the fact that Chinese security men were on the streets of London this week, ordering our own police about and fighting running battles with British protesters while bewildered athletes carried the Olympic torch on its relay through the capital?

I'm sure the people of Haiti, Tibet and Sudan are wondering the same damned thing.

*Clinton Misstates Wife's Bosnia Tale* Full Story

Former President Clinton has added to the falsehoods surrounding his wife's tale of her trip to Bosnia 12 years ago. In Indiana on Thursday, Bill Clinton defended his wife's mistake in claiming that she landed under sniper fire in Bosnia, accusing the media of treating her like "she'd robbed a bank" for confusing the facts.

Hillary Clinton has acknowledged that she got the facts wrong in retelling the tale. Bill Clinton's inaccuracies don't involve long-ago memories, but misstatements about how his wife has handled the story.

Bill Clinton has many of the facts wrong.

His wife didn't make the sniper fire claim "one time late at night when she was exhausted." She actually told the story several times, including during prepared remarks on foreign policy delivered the morning of March 17.

It's also not true that she "immediately apologized for it." Clinton has never apologized for the comments and only acknowledged that she "misspoke" a week after the March 17 speech when video of her peaceful tarmac reception emerged.

It's also not true that she was the "first first lady since Eleanor Roosevelt to go into a combat zone" ...Pat Nixon traveled to Saigon during the Vietnam war and Barbara Bush went to Saudi Arabia two months before the launching of Desert Storm.

The trip also was not in 1995, but 1996.

Clinton campaign spokesman Phil Singer responded to the former president's remarks Friday by saying, "Senator Clinton appreciates her husband standing up for her, but this was her mistake and she takes responsibility for it."

She's also told her husband to quit talking about it.

"Hillary called me and said 'You don't remember this. You weren't there, let me handle it.' I said, 'Yes ma'am,'" Bill Clinton, who was in Indiana campaigning for his wife Friday, told reporters.

A la Lil Kim to Wendy Williams, "Either get your facts straight, or SHUT UP Bitch!"

*Keys Talks About Her Conspiracy Theories* Full Story

NEW YORK (AP) - There's another side to Alicia Keys: conspiracy theorist. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter tells Blender magazine: "'Gangsta rap' was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. 'Gangsta rap' didn't exist."

Keys, 27, said she's read several Black Panther autobiographies and wears a gold AK-47 pendant around her neck "to symbolize strength, power and killing 'em dead,"...

Another of her theories: That the bicoastal feud between slain rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. was fueled "by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing."

I'm getting real tired of people using "conspiracy theorists" to make it sound like folks done lost their minds. Fine. Here's a couple of conspiracy theories: The minute the Establishment is threatened by being exposed, they call it a "conspiracy theory". The minute an artist expresses such a views they are considered to have "changed". I sure COINTELPRO, MK ULTRA and the TUSKEGEE experiments were called "conspiracy theories" at some point in history as well.

Though she's known for her romantic tunes, she told Blender that she wants to write more political songs. If black leaders such as the late Black Panther Huey Newton "had the outlets our musicians have today, it'd be global. I have to figure out a way to do it myself," she said.

I've been pondering this and I hope she and others follow suit. I'd hate to think that at this time, in the most pivotal point in history since the fall of Rome, the only Black music to mark this era would be Soulja Boy's "Crank That."

*Dalai Lama does not support Olympics boycott* Full story

SEATTLE (Reuters) - The Dalai Lama, Tibet's exiled spiritual leader, said on Friday he did not support a boycott of the Beijing Olympic Games.

A leader in the struggle for justice is no longer effective when he starts powdering up for press coverage and talk shows. People get it twisted and feel the revolution will be televised. It will not. It will be spontaneous and unexpected like the burning autos of France, Haiti and his very own Tibet. Going against the wishes of the people you represent is called being a DICTATOR. He's been exiled for naught!

*Swarm of Earthquakes Detected Off Oregon* Full story

Scientists don't know what the earthquakes mean, but they could be the result of magma rumbling underneath the Juan de Fuca Plate...

There have been more than 600 quakes over the past 10 days in a basin 150 miles southwest of Newport. The biggest was magnitude 5.4 and two others were more than magnitude 5.0, OSU reported. They have not followed the typical pattern of a major shock followed by a series of diminishing aftershocks, and few have been strong enough to be felt on shore.

It looks like what happens before a volcanic eruption, except there are no volcanoes in the area, Dziak said.

On the hydrophones, the quakes sound like low rumbling thunder and are unlike anything scientists have heard in 17 years of listening, Dziak said.

Part of the Establishments interference with nature is blowing up bombs in certain areas just to see what happens. I will be posting a video regarding this bizarre practice and the uses of H.A.A.R.P.

*Obama under fire after fundraiser remarks* Full Story

"You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them," Obama, an Illinois senator, said.

"And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations," he said.

"It shows an elitism and condescension toward hard-working Americans that is nothing short of breathtaking," said Steve Schmidt, a senior adviser to the Arizona senator. "It is hard to imagine someone running for president who is more out of touch with average Americans."

"When I go around and I talk to people there is frustration and there is anger and there is bitterness," Obama told a rally in Terre Haute. "They're frustrated and for good reason. ... They've seen their economies collapse. They have lost their jobs. They have lost their pensions.

"Out of touch? Out of touch?" he asked, accusing McCain of failing to understand the home mortgage crisis.

"I mean, John McCain -- it took him three tries to finally figure out that the home foreclosure crisis was a problem and to come up with a plan for it."

Alright. Now I'm gonna have to come after Obama on this one. This was stupid. The last speech he made was remarkable, but he should realize that he's not going to change white people in a day. I get his point, but using a word like "bitter" to describe white people is a personal affront to their unrealistic sense of perpetual glee, and can most assuredly cause immediate bitterness. I'm being sarcastic, but you get my point, hopefully. Obama and his people should know that anything he says will be dissected and analyzed to see if it holds the potential to bite him in the ass! Bitter and frustrated people do not want to hear that they are bitter and frustrated. They want to rail against those Messicans, Blacks and A-rabs in the name of all that's holy and fully loaded. All the while their jobs are being shipped overseas and they just don't want you to point that ish out! He can tell Black audiences to pay more attention to their children, but never, ever, ever, ever, tell white people to look at themselves. I'm disappointed in Obama with this one. Where racializing the brother won't prevail, they will try to paint him as an elitist. I hope he's learned his lesson well.
