A little background? The speculation behind Betha's diddling (Pun!) all began when young Mase became Bad Boy's Sean "P. Diddy" "Puff Daddy" Combs' (Poofy) protege in the 90's where it was rumored in the Mount Vernon hills that Misa Hilton Brim (Poofy's baby momma) walked in on Mase and Poofy getting it on in the biblical sense. This sparked drag wag Wendy Williams' gaydar and she was able to obtain incriminating pictures of Poofy being done by a dude.
In recent events, Mase had a fender bender with a young lady that informed the media that Mason ran the stop sign while trolling for a transvestite prostitute on the stroll in Atlanta. Another transvestite contacted MediaTakeout.com and gave a blow by blow (Pun again!) description of the services he performed during their transaction.
I just can't see the appeal for a preaching Mase. Hell, I couldn't see the appeal of a rapping Mase. But a preaching Mase has placed himself as a conduit to Jesus and that little reality just doesn't sit right with me. He's a man responsible for precious souls yet can't manage to control his lower self.
He's the epitome of the snake oil salesman.
He's an opportunist and an amoral individual who didn't find God until he was run out of New York city at the height of his career. When he tired of God, he came back to "those people" he speaks of disdainfully in his sermon, and signed his soul away to G-Unit in the hopes of a comeback. He may profess he missed God, but it wasn't until his album went brick compared to his former platinum status and his loyalty to the church continually scrutinized, did he return to his parish in Hotlanta with his tail between his legs and blasting the music industry.
Nobody is perfect. But I always felt that there is a marked difference between the person who introduces you to God and the person who is supposed to make sure you stay in God's good graces. The person that introduces you to the God allows you to develop your own relationship with Him. That person can be who they want, do what they want. They do not stand in the way of you and the Lord. The person who preaches His message to you forms the relationship you have with the Lord. If that person can't live by the word he preaches, what does his parish draw from that type of negative energy?
Again, nobody is perfect. But when people exalt imperfection, when they clap their hands and are moved by words made to manipulate instead of uplift--words that are obvious lies--where in recent history you can find the truth to contradict said forked tongue--I've got to wonder what his parish is thinking. And it's not the transvestite thing, it's not the Donny McClurkin, I prayed on my gayness type thing either. It's the straight-up lies and duplicity in character. He's out to make a buck, that's it people--pillar to post.
Bottom line, when it is said that some preachers are working for the devil, don't think it's an impossibility. If we need the Pastor Mason Bethas of the world to get into heaven, then we are summarily doomed!
