Is Lauryn Hill Done?

You know, there was once a time people expected their celebrities to be a bit essentric. Now they want these mega millionaires to be just like us and you know what I say to that?

Grow TF up!

L boogie is a star people. She's a talented, and innovative individual and before you expect her to tow the line and walk to the beat of their drum she will go back into self-exile until they catch up to her.

She's not supposed to dress like us, act like us or be down to Earth. What legend has? A "down-to-Earth" mega millionaire artist is a rarity and an act. They could give a rat's ass about the fanatics. Her job is to make pretty music and give us something to look at on stage. If she happens to bust her ass in the process, then, oh well. When all is said and done, she's still human. And will always perform her art the way she sees fit. Just because the masses don't understand the angle or vibe she's trying to impart doesn't mean that she's finished! She has a lifetime to evolve! I mean for goodness sakes, she's only had one commercial solo CD. The other was an unplugged or something like that. This mass consumption nonsense is compeletely out of hand. It takes many albums to make a music legend and not all of them will be platinum hits.

L boogies is one of those artists that are heralded in the decades after their deaths because the people who existed in their space just didn't get it. If you think people will be singing the same way in 20 years as they are today, then you're sadly mistaken. People are going to test their voices and stretch the concept of what is off key--what sounds "good" is truly relative.

Just remember there was a time when they said Aretha Franklin could not sing.
