Saudi rape victim ‘having affair’

Highlight: Saudi justice officials say a woman who was sentenced to prison and flogging after she was gang-raped has now confessed to an extramarital affair. Full Story

Of course I don’t agree with how the Saudi courts dealt with this woman by sentencing her prison and lashings. I don't think anyone deserves to be raped regardless of what position they finds themselves in. I am not supposed to because I’m America and am accustomed to different mores. That said, any logical individual from a free society would stop short of trying to enforce their traditions upon one in which they do not agree with. We live in a society that claims they have nothing against a person’s freedoms unless they break the law. She broke the law.

Funny thing is that considering the U.S. claims that most of the 911 highjackers were of Saudi descent, there has been no outcry from our government and they remain bedfellows with the Saudis and witnessed in this weeks Citigroup venture. It would be interesting to know how much this evil alliance could be jeopardized by a 19-year old adulteress.
