Jay Z in New York at the Hammerstein Ballroom was all that. I haven't listened to J in a minute. I know, I'm late on the new album, but I kinda like to let my music marinate a bit--kinda let the hype die down. Anyway, I enjoyed the show; rather the music. J doesn't give you a "show," but his music speaks volumes to me.
Anyhoo, everything was going along smashingly and then it was time to bring out the Roc Boys and Jada Kiss was introduced as the new kid on the block. The DJ threw on "The Benjamins" and Jada Kiss stopped the music talkin' 'bout how that's puffy's song. WTF? Puffy was there, he could have sang his part. Then they threw on something else and that fool said he didn't know the lyrics. So now everyone is standing around on the stage; Beenie, Freeway and dem, and Jay looks like he's saying "Nigga, if...wtf are you doing? You better do something. I ain't time for this ish--you're ruining a perfect ending over here." Finally Jada throws his hands up and Jay has them cue up the Roc Boys all over again and they got the party started all over again. Jada is now behind everybody with his hands in his pockets kicking rocks. Finally he walks off the stage. I guess he didn't know the lyrics to Roc Boyz either. WTF hunh?
You know, there are stars and there are just people who are shiny. Jada's looking real shiny right about now.
